Pacific Comedy alive and well

Posted in: Entertainment

For those of you who haven’t heard of the Kila Kokonut Krew, you really need to see their shows. They only perform a couple of times a year and are definitely worth the wait. Their comedy is clean family entertainment with Pacific related themes us Tongans can relate to. I found a couple old videos on YouTube as well as another funny video I thought you might enjoy.

As Pacific people, we all love to laugh and these comedy crews like the Kila Kokonut Krew , The Naked Samoans and the Laughing Samoans have set the standard in Pacific comedy. Their works are positive and illuminate the pathways for others (including our Tongan people) to showcase their talents with a lot of hard work, sweat and practice.

Laughing is universal. It is what binds us and keeps us healthy as a Pacific people. If acting is your talent, pursue it and never give up on that dream. These troupes I have mentioned are a prime example of what one can achieve when the mind believes. Be inspired.

…and now for Super Fresh!!!…this comedy is a MUST SEE so check it out 29th April - 3rd May (Herald Theatre, Aotea Centre, Auckland)
