The message below is from stopwhaling.com.au urging concerned animal lovers like you to come to the rescue of the whales - over thirty thousand of which have been cruelly killed by whalers since an international ban on whaling in 1986.
Time is running out for the Pacific’s iconic humpback whales.

The Japanese whaling fleet has set sail and this year they intend killing more than 1000 whales in the name of science, including 50 endangered humpbacks - the very whales that thousands of Australians and Pacific people welcome during their annual migration past our shores and one of the main species that supports a $300 million whale watching industry in Oceania.
It is time for our leaders in Australia, NZ and the Pacific to act with more than just words to condemn the cruelty of whaling.
Make whaling an election issue.
